Music speaks a thousand words. A cheesy saying, but it’s true. It is something that anyone can relate to. Different styles and sounds reflect many moods. Why do people get judged for the type of music they listen to? What gives people the right to categorize them in a stereotype? It’s something that irritates me. There are many types for a reason. Whether you listen to pop, country, rap, or metal; something is there for you. I personally enjoy alternative music. I like something that is different from everyone else. Music has several purposes. It allows you to escape from the outside, keep you entertained, or helps you feel better when you’re sad. The combination of sounds and words make you feel something on the inside. Whether its happiness, sadness, or even anger. You feel an emotion that allows you to drift to a different place. The words remind you of a different time, a memory from the past. You experience something every time music plays. Music is the universal language; everyone enjoys it as much as the next. It speaks a thousand words.
